We all have that one friend who is ALWAYS reading. Whenever you need a good book recommendation or an opinion about that new best-seller, they got your back. And although they’re typically quite easy when it comes to gift giving (another book, duh!), here are a few other options you might want to consider.
Whether it’s the holiday, a birthday, or a just because –these gifts are sure to leave them jumping for joy! Who doesn’t want their reading habit to be indulged in, afterall?
1. Kindle
If they don’t have one already, I would HIGHLY recommend a Kindle. I know people feel very strongly about reading a physical book, but this little guy is perfect for travel or on the go. Trust me, I resisted for the longest time.
Also, as somebody who has moved apartments multiple times, it’s been great not to haul around hundreds of books. I am now super intentional with the books I keep which make them even more special!
Now, there are a ton of different types and styles of Kindles out there, but I’ve found this “new” 16 GB one to be the best. It’s more compact than the Paperwhite Kindle and has a great amount of storage for a wide variety of books
2. Kindle Holder & Remote
Okay, hear me out on this one! Have you ever been super cozy in bed, reading a book, and everything is perfect EXCEPT your hands are FREEZING. This Kindle holder and remote are the answer.
What I love about this set-up is that you can move it around and attach it to just about anything, not just your bed frame! Also, I love that it’s adjustable so you can read on your back, your side, or however you choose. This contraption is something I would have thought up as a kid. It’s amazing that exists in real life and the book lover in yours will love you for it.
3. Book Embosser
As much as I love an ebook, I still have a soft spot for the physical copies of stories. I’ve been seeing these book embossers around social media and I think they’re genius for the bookworm in your life.
It has a beautiful, personalized feel and screams little librarian! I don’t know anything more cozy and cute than a way to mark your beloved books with a personalized stamp. It’s simple, elegant, and thoughtful.
I’ve done quite some research on these products and this one from Etsy seems to be quite sturdy and reliable (not sponsored) with a ton of unique designs!
4. Cute bookmarks
Again, I love me an e-book but nothing gets me more excited than a cute bookmark. There are hundreds, if not thousands of options on Etsy, but I’ve really found myself to be attracted to these cute corner bookmarks!
I just love the fact that they stay in place without bending, folding, or any of that other nonsense. I’ve fallen victim to one too many destroyed bookmarks after I’ve tossed them into my bag. They’re cute, practical, and the perfect gift for that friend who finds themself in my same predicament of destroying one bookmark after the other.
And yes, they’re cute but I highly encourage scouring Etsy for more than one bookmark for that bookworm pal. It’s like the adult version of looking through all the bookmarks at the Scholastic Bookfair!
5. Cozy Blanket
Who doesn’t like a cozy blanket when they’re reading? There’s just something about curling up on the couch with a good book, a hot mug of tea, and soft blanket that just hits different. Especially with the colder months approaching us, there’s nothing better than a good book and snuggle.
And although we all love a blanket, we’ve all received a few that are not quite as cute as we’d like. So, make sure you’re not THAT gift giver and find your friend an aesthetic blanket they’ll be proud to display! There are so many cute blankets out there to choose from, but here are a few of my favorites!
6. Mini Projector
Okay, so I have 100% been sucked in by tiktok on this one, but I really think it’s one of those things that can amplify the overall reading experience. And, for any teachers out there, it’s a great way to set the mood for when you’re reading a story for your kiddos.
If you haven’t seen the videos, you essentially YouTube a video (like a cozy fire or Harry Potter ambience), and project it to set the mood while you read. You can virtually search for anything and it exists!
Also, this is something your bookworm friend will probably never buy for themselves so they will be thrilled to see it’s been gifted to them! It’s the most extra gift in the best possible way.
7. Book Journal
I’m a sucker for a bullet journal. Not making one, per se, but watching people make their outlines and be creative and fill in all the little squares. I’ve always dreamed of being a crafty girl, but it never really stuck nor came naturally to me.
So, when I saw all the cute little reading book journals people were crafting online, I knew I wanted one of my own but did not have the patience to make one. Off to the internet I went! There are hundreds of different options and everyone will have a different preference, but I really liked this one! It’s got great color options, just enough space for me to color and be creative, and it’s concise.
It’s a beautiful physical memento to keep track of all the books that have been read throughout the years! After reading a ton, it’s hard to keep track so I love that there’s space to write down your own opinions and the things that jumped out while reading. It’s a beautiful gift that can be added to your bookworm’s extensive book collection!
Whatever you choose to get the book lover in your life, know they will be immensely grateful for you for thinking of them and indulging in their hobbies.
