Everybody has that friend who’s always on the go. Whether it’s for work or fun, these 7 gifts are sure to light up any of your friend’s lives and make travel just a bit easier!
1. Travel Umbrella
You never know how much you need an umbrella until you need an umbrella. For the longest time, I traveled without one because I hated how bulky and annoying they were. That was until I found the perfect travel umbrella a Decathalon store in Copenhagen.
It was perfect. Small, sleek, and super portable. It fit right into my bag without any problem and it helped keep me dry during my trip’s downpour! Living in Southern California, it hardly ever rains so I’ve never had much of a need to research into umbrellas.
I’ve always just taken the crappy, half-broken ones that always seemed to appear in the garage whenever I needed one. It’s one of those things I never thought about until I actually needed it; and at that moment, it was already too late.
Since the fateful day I picked-up my travel umbrella, I have not looked back! After years of using it on my travels, I’ve boiled down my love for this umbrella into one thing –it has a cover that keeps the umbrella well compacted. Yes, it is overall a decent umbrella, but what keeps me traveling on with it is the cover that compacts it down nicely into a sleep cylinder.
I couldn’t find the same umbrella I bought so many years ago but I linked one that is similar! Trust me, your world traveler friend will appreciate more than you know –more than they know!
2. Packable Water Bottle
I hate being dehydrated. And the easiest way to become dehydrated is by doing the thing I love most –travel. Whether it be in transit on the plane ride or walking around a beautiful city, I absolutely need a water bottle on hand to keep me hydrated and on the go.
I’ve tested out many water bottles throughout my years traveling. From Stojo Cups to Hydroflasks, I’ve tried them all! Stojos just aren’t my thing and any metal water bottle is just too heavy and inconvenient.
Enter HydraPak.
There’s just something about the HydraPak that I’ve come to love. It’s a bit floppy for some, but I find it perfect for stashing in my bag around other items or just using a carabiner to attach it to the outside of my bag. Also, I love that it just takes up less and less space as you continue to drink.
Your travel friend will love this, I guarantee it!
3. Packing Cubes
Okay, I know I’ve spoken in excess about these packing cubes but it’s because I’m a super fan. If I could only pick one thing out of this list to have, it would be these Taskin packing cubes.
As somebody who only travels with a carry-on, this is the perfect organizational tool to keep your bag tidy! The thing that sets this packing cube apart from the rest is its double-sided compartments. There’s one side for your clean clothes and another for your laundry. I LOVE THIS FEATURE.
As a little bit of a clean freak, having a separate laundry component just helps me sleep better at night. Also, I very much appreciate the fact that it has a third zipper to help compress everything down. Long gone are the days of bulky laundry bags!
These are my holy grail of travel and I’m sure they’ll be yours too.
4. Portable Battery
This one is a no-brainer! Your travel buddy will be ecstatic to have a portable battery at their fingerprints. And, a cute one at that!
A portable battery is a must-have for any traveler. I know that when I’m out and about, I’m constantly on my phone checking the map for directions to my next spot. Before I know it, my battery is drained. There’s nothing scarier than being in a different country without access to your phone. It’s a lifeline!
What I love about this battery in particular is its lack of cords. I used to travel with a portable battery that required me to connect one thing to another. It worked, but it was constantly getting tangled or unplugging. Not the biggest deal but super annoying. This one is totally magnetic and super convenient so long as you have a MagSafe case for your phone.
A simple travel gift that your friend can use in all parts of their life!
5. Universal Charging Port Cube
As a world traveler, there’s nothing more important than having the ability to charge all your gear. Namely, your phone and any battery packs.
With so many different electrical outlets around the world, it can be tough to keep up. I used to worry about not bringing the right adapters, but with this universal charging port, I have them all at my fingerprints!
Also, I love that it comes in a compact cube. It’s super easy to pack away and I never have to worry about bringing the right adapter because I have them all!
6. Montbell Travel Pack
I’ve gone through many iterations of cosmetics packs before I found this one. Actually, it was gifted to me by a friend after I marveled over the utility of his.
I will admit, I am a pretty minimal when it comes to toiletries so aside from a few skincare items and toothpaste, I don’t carry much. I keep my make-up to blush and mascara and don’t carry around any make-up brushes. So, this case works really well for me but may not work well for those who need more space!
I love how big the two major compartments are and the fact that there are a few organizational spaces included as well. Additionally, there’s a hook that makes it easy to hang this toiletry bag up on a towel rack or whatever you have available.
It’s a simple design, but it works great!
7. Packable Backpack
As someone who only travels with a duffel backpack, it’s often tough for me to carry another bag on my person. They can feel extremely bulky and like a hassle to lug around on those travel days.
Additionally, I don’t always need a smaller back while I’m in transit but love having a smaller bag to keep all my belongings during the days I’m exploring a city.
My solution to this? A packable backpack! Not only are they super lightweight, they pack down super small so it’s easy to throw into your bag without taking up much room. It’s been a great addition to my travel must-haves and has saved me more times than I can count from buying unnecessary backpacks or tote bags when I travel.
Even on the trips where I do have a separate day-to-day bag, I like to carry this packable backpack around in case I need more space for groceries or things I buy along the way.
Your travel friend is sure to thank you for this new addition to their gear list!
